We do have a built-in rhythm game mode that's more akin to Guitar Hero, with additional features such as custom song support and a growing custom song ecosystem. so people often use the app to play real songs and drum covers - you can check out our VR drum cover playlist for more! We're a full-fledged drumming simulator in VR with features like pedal support (the performer is using electronic drum pedals in this cover), MIDI support etc. The song is also not part of the app, the performer is playing the audio in the background and drumming on top of it in Paradiddle. There's no quantization or grid snapping going on, the cover is all freely played on top of the song. Took us a bit of iteration to get it to feel right a few years ago, but it's been working out pretty well ever since we dialed it in :) So it's not a fixed animation, they move differently based on the stick impact position and strength. Thanks! The cymbal movement is physics based with physics constraints set in Unreal to prevent them from tipping too far.
